Dear Webmaster Zip:
Since my early observations that kicked off this e-mailathon, I have watched from the sidelines, with interest, awe, and glee the deep intellectual
debate that resulted. I read the latest missive from Dr. Doogie with great interest and feel I must once again enter the mosh pit of communication to
which this topic has, thankfully, deteriorated. Doogie is quite right, I am a nice guy.
Nice Guy
Aside from knowing that there is some kind of difference between humerus and humorous, I have no clinical or medical background. Still, I believe I have enough common sense to say that by virtue of declaring Hoggeritis the medical equivalent of the drug and alcohol induced hallucinations of a modern day Svengali (Macos), the Doc has simply thrown open the flood gates of controversy further. Do I hear the pages of the vaunted New England Medical of Journal being turned as we speak by those seeking to find a medical thread that will prove Hoggeritis has clinical credibility?

Modern Day Svengali
Further, there may be more than one sufferer of this condition who would like nothing better than to knock the Doc off his self-proclaimed high horse. However, a more troubling thought has occurred to me. By declaring so forcefully that the condition is contrived, is the Doc simply feathering the research bed that he, like so many medicos of our modern age, so longingly wish to crawl into and snooze. My line of thinking is that he can probably extract millions from some egghead institution, that we nice guy, trinket peddling, spike heeled wearing, strap designing, light bulb changing, rice eating loving corporate moguls, fund via our taxes. What will this extraction be for? Why to find out if there is a clinical basis for a "new" condition known as Hoggeritis.

Ploy to Extract Millions

From Some Egghead Institution
To me, this is a brilliant ploy, and one that takes a mind far more devious
than mine to dream up. Being a nice guy, anything this perverse would have been beyond me. However, I am not blind to the logical path the Doc's out of
hand dismissal of Hoggeritis leads. Right to the hallowed halls of academia and the pockets of taxpayers who fund the government that in turns funds
projects to nowhere. And who will be Dr. Demento's guinea pigs during the early stages of this "research"? That's right, the very group of sufferers
he currently dismisses as mind addled bozo's. (Regardless of how accurate, or apt, that description may be.)
By my calculation, the Doc should be able to milk this baby right through college education for the kids, a Marco Island condo for he and the wife,
and all the Geritol spritzers he can guzzle in his golden years. It's a great plan Doc and my hat is off to you. By comparison, J.P. Morgan was a
freaking humanitarian. I have no idea whether my deductive reasoning is correct or not, but if there are other Hog's out there who believe I may be
on to something, please respond.
Sincerely
Give it a lick, (Mr. Nice Guy), Dick
